well after hours of waiting and preparing i got to audition for one of the american idol producers(for those who don't know, you audition for producers before you get to simon,paula, and randy). i sang "i'm yours" by jason mraz. With an excellent start, i had the dude bobbing his head a little, it all fell apart as i forgot the stupid words i have been working on for like a month, not once, but twice. i don't know if it would've made a difference , but i think i would of had a good chance to move on if i remembered my words.my brother-in-law Jaren went with me and he was pretty good singing "lean on me" the producer wasn't sure so he had him sing another song. he did some toby keith song which he sang well but i guess the producer dude wasn't a country fan so he got cut as well, but he was really close.two other girls were in our grup and they both sang pretty good too, but i guess the dude wasn't impressed enough. he told us we were good, but they had "raised the bar" and we weren't what they were looking for.

I am proud that you went and did the audition. It takes a lot of guts!!! Unfortunate that nerves take over sometimes. Good for you to have that experience though!!!
We didn't even know that you sang, Andrew! Boy are you in trouble now - when the bishop knows you can sing there is no chance of hiding your talent anymore! Just wait until they need someone to sing in sacrament meeting! Just kidding! Good for you for trying out!
