umm....what to blog about?

So I know I have been really neglecting my blog lately. Twilight was more than a month ago and I have been soooo lazy! And since KoriAnn has been bugging me to update it...here goes. I think I'll just combine the last month and a half into one blog.

Thanksgiving was great! We went to a lodge on the other side of the canyon. It was so fun! We met up with the Foley family and combined food and fun! It had been about 10 years or so since we have eaten at the same lodge with the Foleys and it was fun to relive the memories!
We stayed the night one night and we watched old home videos and played games together! It was a blast!!

My Birthday was on December 7th!!! It was the best birthday I EVER HAD!!! I planned a trip to Washington to visit my BFF from high school! She lives in Lacey and I left on the 6th and stayed till the 10th! My husband is amazing and took care of all the kids for me so I could go!! I am so greatful for a hubby that will do that for me!!! So while in Washington I shopped for Bunco which I hosted the day after I got back! Then we planned a day trip to Forks...Yes I said FORKS!! I wouldnt call myself an addicted type of fan but I enjoyed the books and movie and I can't wait to see New Moon next december! My friend read the books thanks to me and she liked them just as much so since she only lives a couple hours away from forks, we just decided to go! It was great! I love the ocean! It's so relaxing and thereputic to me!!

This year I planned the Jakes over the Top Christmas party. It was soooo fun!!! I can't wait till next year!

Christmas was amazing this year! The kids are at an age that it is just so fun and exciting and it makes me happy with tears that they are experiencing Christmas the way I did!!! We had Christmas Eve at my moms like always and it was fun and spiritual as always! We always read Christs Birth from the Bible and this year we watched Joy to the world with the Tablernacle Choir! That show makes me cry every time! My Grandpa was there and told us an amazing story of how he gave money to a Lady whos husband deserted her and her 5 children. He asked us if we would be willing to give the normal $20 he gives us each year to her to help in her circumstances. Of course we all said yes!! That means that each child in his fold that he gives $20 to he would give to her!! He has alot of Grandkids and great grandkids!!!

This year Andrew had to work on Christmas eve and Christmas day so Drew left early to set up the presents so that it looked like santa came while we were at g-ma and g-pas house!! G-ma and G-pa Melo were at home waiting for us and we opened presents with them! It was so fun and the kids were exhausted but it was nice! The next morning was so easy. The kids slept in a little and just played all day!

Next is new years! I am planning a party at my moms house like I always do and its gonna be a blast! I am also starting a diet...resolutions have been made! Scripture study and weight loss are the goal! Wish me luck!

Till next time...who knows when it will be....haha!

TWILIGHT midnight showing!

Well I must say I wasn't completely disappointed! The movie followed the book for the most part. A few added things here and there. Some things were skipped. That was the most disappointing to me. But it was comical! There was romance! Edward's character did a good job! I don't want to spoil anything but I just wanted to say that I enjoyed it and were going to see it again asap!! haha!
JASPER WAS SOOO FUNNY!!!
Glorianne, KoriAnne, Lorri, Me, and Michelle!!
KoriAnn and I before we were seated! TEAM EDWARD!
We're ready to see the movie!

Some of the young women that came! Amber and Heather, and Katie and Rachel!

Jaren is such a cheese ball!
we had to pose next to Edward! After we took this picture we got cussed out! It was only during the previews! that girl was cranky!
After the movie! all our face stuff wore off!
Were tired! 2 am is way too early!

High school to now!

When I lived in Nevada I met a really fun and wonderful friend! She was one of my only mormon friends there. We had tons of fun together and made lots of great memories!!! We now are older and both have kids but we still find time to get together! I haven't seen her in over a year. Her baby boy is 18 months and it was the first time I met him!

Here is Angie and I in high school!!

Juniors!

Seniors! Actually grad night!

So I went up to Rexburg yesterday and stayed the night at her house. Her hubby was out of town for some school thing. We were able to catch up and do some girly things! I cut her hair, styled it and helped her with some makeup tips!:D She didn't need it though! Cause she is beautiful!!! But here we are now! Big difference huh!!? We are so old now! haha!

Here is her son Dallin! He is sooo cute!!

Kado and Dallin fighting over a ball! haha best friends already!

I went a little camera crazy! The kids played on the playset! FUN!

Kado ate some leaves:D

Dallin tried to run away haha!

The kids shared the toys nicely!:D
And Kado was just cute!!

Halloween day adventures!

So this year the kids picked out thier costumes again. Lainee was originally wanting to be a skeleton but when she saw this costume at costco, she changed her mind! She is tinker bell! I did her hair all curly and painted her face! She will tell you she loved that I put makeup on her!!
I didn't dress up this year. I like to but I just never planned it and so here I just put my brothers fake teeth in and posed with my pumpkin:D Yes, I am weird, for people that don't know. :D

Drew dressed up as Vujacic from the Lakers. and Jaren was...ummm....something weird and freaky...

Kado was my sweet little pumpkin:D he was in such a good mood the whole day! expecially the evening! He is just such a sweet boy!! so happy!

Makai fell asleep on the way to my moms house and I am a big beleiver that you shouldn't wake a sleeping child! Not even for Halloween. I learned that I should just stick to that cause when it was time to go trick or treating Drew asked if Kai was going. I said well he is asleep! Poor thing was sooo tired from walking all around the school earlier in the day for Lainee's kindergarten costume parade. So I woke him and he had a huge fit! So I put him in a room and said, as soon as you can behave, you can come trick or treating with us. He sat in "timeout" thinking about it for a long time. We actually thought he went back to sleep. Drew and I were out with Lainee and Kado and we had gone to about 10 houses already when G-pa called and said that there was a ready race car driver wanting to go trick or treating. So I ran back home and got him. He was in a great mood all night after that. It is proof that you shouldn't wake a sleeping child! And that thier sleep in very important! Just the little sleep he got gave him the energy to walk around the neighborhood! But I woke him up too soon and that is why he was cranky at first.
Anyway about Makai's costume. He wanted to be speed racer really bad!! The costumes we found online were corny and cheap looking and when we did find one we liked, they didn't have his size. So we looked everywhere. Costco, walmart, shopko, and we just couldn't find anything anywhere!! So we just decided to look at the mall. They had a huge store just for costumes and we found a race car driver costume. At first he was like, NOOO, I wanna be speed racer!!! But we told him it was this or nothing, so he finally gave in. It looks really cute on him!! And he really grew to love it!
Maybe speed racer next year when he is a little bigger:D
So Halloween this year was good! They got tons of candy! They had lots of fun! I wish I had thrown a Halloween party and dressed up but there is always next year....unless the new president passes a law that we can't have halloween!!! (or taxes are too high, one or the other) BLAH!

Good friends!

I really think it's important to have people in your life that you get along with and can have a real good time with! Of course there is always family but you have to have other people to have fun with!
KoriAnn Anderson and her hubby Ben went out with us this last weekend! We went out to dinner at chilis! Then went bowling! It was sooo fun! At 9 o'clock they turned off the lights and it was galactic bowling with black, and disco lights! They had a DJ or someone who was meant to be one and we danced and goofed off while bowling!! I, of course, won the first game, cause I'm just that good! But the second game Drew dominated the lanes!

It was funny cause Ben rolled up one of his pant legs and looked like a complete NERD! We laughed and had a good ol time!

Thanks for being so wonderful! We love you guys!

Pumpkin patch!

So my grandpa's neighbor has a pumpkin patch and we went last week to let the kids pick out a pumpkin! It was fun!
Makai wanted one small enough that he could carry. And Lainee just wanted a good one....So here are some fun pictures! We are carving them tomorrow!!

Makai was cranky cause he fell off the big pumpkin and the guy laughed at him...awwww

Canyonlands Adventure!

Camping down in Canyonlands is something we used to do every year. We havent been in 10 years!! I was 14 when I was there last! It was nice to go and relive some memories from when we used to go every year! We stay at a group camp site called split top camp ground. It has a cool cave with a split up the top of it. That is where the camp fire is.

We got some back country permits and took our 4 wheel drive vehicles up some canyons! We found some cool arches and some awesome indian ruins! I found one all by myself!! That was pretty cool! We also went the the infamous Paul Bunyons potty! it is a bit huge hole in a rock that looks like a toilet! We climbed up into it and it had indian ruins in it! It was AWESOME!!

Here are a few pics from our trip. I'll explain each one:D

This one is just right up from our camp site. It was the first morning and my dad hadn't made breakfast yet so we decided to take the kids on thier first exploration adventure! They loved it!

This is up on top of the rocks by our campsite. The view was awesome! The pictures just don't do it justice!

We were finding our way back and decided to climb down this crack!
This is actually before the previous one. It's the beginning of the crack:D
More on top of the rocks pics

When we came previous years this was something we nick named as the doll house because the holes in the rock reminded us of little rooms for a doll! Lainee thought this was pretty cool!
Drew was trying to climb up to the doll house...he had a little trouble...hahaha
There is Kado and I up in the doll house:D Thanks to Courtney for letting us borrow the baby back pack! It was a life saver!!
Here we are with my brother Jaren on top of the rocks!

I thought this picture was really cute! We decided to go check out the other group campsite. We might go again next year and we would need to reserve this other one cause it's bigger. We hope to have more people next year:D But I thought it was cute because they climbed into this little cave and then I asked them to turn around a smile and they did in the same pose! SO CUTE!

It's hard to see but if you look just to the left of Lainee there is a rock and next to that rock is a rock called The wooden shoe. It looks like a shoe....

The kids climbed onto this branch and so we stuck Kado up there and snapped a shot! Actually alot of shots...this is just one:D

This is the back of the split top cave. It was nice during the day since it was so warm outside. But at night it was chilly!!

Here the kids are peeking out of this cool cave!

Lainee was such a good climber! My kids were made to crawl all over rocks!

Here is Paul Bunyons potty!

The kids standing below Paul Bunyons Potty!

This one didn't show up like I hoped it would. There is Indian ruins up in this cave! If you look to the very right you can see them:D
Here is Lainee and Makai cuddling next to the fire!
I have so many pictures from this trip! These are just the best ones!! We had so much fun! And can't wait till next year. Minus the peeing the pants the dirt and the cold nights it was amazing!
