How am I gonna do this?

Ok, so having 4 kids didn't seem to be much different to me. I mean, I have this extra little person that requires a lot of attention and care. She takes a lot out of me but not too much that I can't handle it. She sleeps great and doesn't cry much. It was easy when we didn't have to go anywhere all day. But it's only been 2 days of school and Makai starts monday. I am already pulling my hair out. Drew will be able to take the kids to school 3 out of the 5 days which is wonderful! But I don't know how I am going to juggle 4 kids on the other 2 days! My lovely sister inlaw Jossi is wonderful and has offered to take them on thursdays but friday is a different story.

My routine will consist of the following:
1. Wake up around 7 am and feed Lyla if she is hungry, maybe she will stay asleep! That would be ideal. Then maybe I can feed her when the kids are off. Also check/change her diaper.
2. Make sure Lainee and Makai are out of bed and dressed appropriatly for school. (clothes should/will be set out the night before).
3. When Kado wakes up make sure he goes potty so we don't have an accident. Make sure the kids go potty as well.
4. Make breakfast for them and Kado depending on if he is awake as well.
5. Make sure backpacks, jackets and shoes are ready, check Lyla and Kado if they are still asleep.
6. Make sure Lainee and Kai are eating and not messing around. Hurry them along if they aren't finished.
7. Brush and do hair.
8. Get the kids to brush thier teeth once they are done eating.
9. Get shoes, jacket and packbacks on.
10. Kiss them and tell them I love them and that I hope they have a wonderful day! Don't forget to be a good example to your friends!
11. Throw them out the door for thier ride on thursdays and on fridays load EVERYONE and thier FREAKING DOG into the car. (good thing we don't have dog cause I would have to add that in there somewhere I'm sure.)

As most of you all know I am NOT a morning person. I hate to be awake unless I feel completely rested. Most of the time it takes me a while to actually wake up. I wish my husband had a regular 9-5 job! Then he could do all of that and I'm sure he wouldn't mind. He never complains about doing it 3 out the 5 days. Of course sometimes hair isn't done and clothes don't match but, Oh well, I like my sleep!!! Especially in the morning!!

Is it summer break yet?

Lainee's 1st day of 2nd grade

Today Lainee started school. She is in 2nd grade now. We met her teacher last night and she is super nice. I think she will be good for Lainee since Lainee is really shy. When we were talking to her teacher Lainee had her arms wrapped around my hips and her head up against my belly. (yes, my fat belly lol) and she would barely make eye contact with her. When she would ask her a question, Lainee would just nod. I wonder if the lady thought that maybe I abuse my children because of how shy Lainee was! LOL JK!!

The thing is, Lainee, she is not that shy. Yes, when she meets someone new or see's someone she hasn't seen in a while, she is reserved and acts like it will kill her if she talks to them or makes eye contact. But Lainee at home and around people she is comfortable with is not shy! The Lainee I know (and she is a lot like her daddy in this way because Drew is a totally different person when he is in his comfort zone) sings along with the radio, dances to music, talks about random things, plays pretend and dress up all the time, loves to cuddle with her mommy, tells me her dreams, laughs at silly things (and has the cutest, giggly laugh!!), loves to make me laugh, loves animals, is very kind and gentle, is a wonderful big sister that loves to show the way, loves helping in the kitchen, loves coloring, drawing, friends, and just having a good time!

I love her so much! She is my little girl. She has no idea how much she means to me. It think I will cry every year she goes back to school!!

When they were babies...

cantaloupes and zucchinis!!

I am in some sort of weird stage in my life. (maybe it's cause of the season). I have been making bread. But not just any bread. Have you ever had cantaloupe bread? I'm sure you've tried zucchini bread. But cantaloupe?
When I was a senior in high school I worked at a farm in Fallon, NV. This farm had a produce stand, a grill, a bakery kitchen, and a corn maze. I worked at any of these areas during the week. Where ever they needed me. I even carved a crap load of pumpkins during Halloween for their jack-o-lantern tower!! But one of my favorite things to do was work in the bakery kitchen where I would whip up huge loads of cantaloupe bread. I used huge amounts of ingredients and they even had one of those big mixers! (I wish I had one of those!!)
Anyway, Fallon is known for it's amazing cantaloupes. It's one of the main reasons why I miss it! I also met my husband there!

cutest wool longies EVER!

Kado liked wearing them too. They are made to fit a a bigger baby than Lyla. Kado is a little to big lol!

Check out these wool longies. I got them from a WAHM (work at home mom) online. She takes wool sweaters and make these super cute pants that are perfect for using over cloth diapers. They hold in leaks amazingly!!:D
One of my next projects is to go to the thrift store and buy a 100% wool sweater and make some more of these cute cute longies!!

call me crazy about cloth!!

You all might think I am a crazy person but I am saving lots of money by using cloth diapers for Lyla. I used disposables for the first few weeks and she started to get a rash...Ever since I switched to cloth her rash is going away!
I made 5 of the diapers myself and my stash keeps getting bigger!!!

Introducing Lyla Melo!

Lyla was born on 7.26.10 in a birthing pool in our basement with the help of our wonderful midwife Chris Miller. She is an amazing midwife and I wouldn't have a baby any other way!! The experience was awesome! I had Lyla after 5 hours of labor. Only 3 or so of it was painful. I would have to say the pushing part is the hardest but it is the shortest.
So far Lyla has been an easy baby. She doesn't cry very much and she sleeps and eats wonderfully!
God has definetly blessed our family and we thank him everyday for them!
